Vinschgau Valley Holiday paradise with 300 days of sunshine
The surrounding mountains of the Ötztal Alps, the Sesvenna Group and the Ortler Group guarantee the dry and Mediterranean climate of the Vinschgau.
Mountains and landscapes
The Vinschgau is centrally located in the main Alpine ridge, where the Alps are widest with almost 250 km. The northern border with Tyrol can be described as the weather and watershed, the Vinschgau Adige flows south into the Adriatic, while the Inn flows through the Engadin north into the Danube.
The same is true of the weather, disturbances from the north or west do not reach the Vinschgau, bad weather in the north gives the Vinschgau Föhnwind. Southern weather influences often stop in front of the Vinschgau. The rainfall is mostly raining or snowing in the southern lagoon of our southern neighbor valleys Martelltal and Ulten.
